Our Program:

To be eligible for our little league level (ages 5-12) baseball program for the 2018 playing season, the player must reside within or attend school in the Mechanicsburg Area School District. Playing age is determined as of May 1, 2018. However, we will accept a first year player who turns 5 by August 1, 2018. Players who turn age 13 by May 1, 2018 should register for the Preteeners level.

Our baseball program is generally broken into the following leagues:
  • Junior Pony – 5 and 6 year olds
  • Senior Pony – 7 and 8 year olds
  • Minors – 9 and 10 year olds
  • Majors – 11 and 12 year olds (The size of the majors playing field is 50/70)
Requests for a child to play at a level above or below their recommended age group will be addressed confidentially and on an individual “case by case” basis. The managers, coaches and league coordinator will collectively evaluate and determine if it is appropriate for the child to play at a level above or below his age group.

To be eligible for Mechanicsburg Area Teener Baseball (MAT) for the 2018 playing season, a player must reside or attend school within the Mechanicsburg Area School District and be between the ages of 13 and 17 as of May 1, 2018. Our program is structured as follows:

  • 13 year olds - MAT puts together teams that play in the Hampden Baseball Association’s 13 year old League in the National and American Divisions. The home field is adjacent to Northside Elementary school. The size of the playing field is 54/75.
  • 14 year olds - MAT puts together a team that plays in the Greater West Shore Teener League’s National Junior Division and/or American Division. Practices and home games are held at either Fisher Park or Koser Park. The size of the playing field is 60/90.
  • 15-17 year olds - MAT puts together teams that plays in the Greater West Shore Teener League’s National Senior Division and/or American Division. Practices and home games are held at either Fisher Park or Koser Park. The size of the playing field is 60/90.

Player Evaluations:

PLAYERS MOVING UP A LEVEL, NEW TO THE ORGANIZATION, OR WISHING TO PLAY UP A LEVEL MUST BE EVALUATED.

Evaluations for Sr.Pony, Minors and Majors will be held in Mid-February. Jr.Pony level players do not need to be evaluated. After registration closes, we will send an email to all registrants with instructions as to the specific date, time and location for the evaluations. Only players moving up a level, new to the organization, or wishing to play up a level must be evaluated. Please contact us ahead of time if your child cannot make the scheduled time.

Evaluations for Preteeners and Teeners levels will be TBD in March. After registration closes, we will send an email to all registrants with instructions as to the specific date, time and location for the evaluations.

General Information:
We want our players to learn the concepts of teamwork, improve their baseball skills through hard work, and learn the importance of good sportsmanship. As a parent, you will play a major role in your child’s experience and the success of our program. You can help ensure a successful experience for your child by having a positive attitude toward our program, participating with your child, modeling good sportsmanship, communicating with your manager whenyou have a concern, and supporting the activities of your child’s team.

UABA recognizes and appreciates the commitment you are making to your child and our program. We in turn make a commitment to you. We will provide your child and our community with a high quality baseball program. We will select managers and coaches who are knowledgeable and who model good sportsmanship. We will emphasize safety throughout our program. We will provide uniforms, equipment, and fields that provide a safe playing environment.

Please select from the positions below for which you are willing to serve. Our hope is that each family is able to help our program by volunteering for at least one position.

You will notice that this has been filled in for you. Everyone is required to complete at least one concession stand shift per player (of which you are the parent/guardian) per year.
Fundraising:
In addition to the UABA registration fees, each family is charged a $50 fundraising fee. You will be given the opportunity to reimburse yourself the $50 fee by participating in our lottery ticket fundraiser. You will be given $50 in lottery tickets to sell. Rather then turning that money in, you just keep the $50 you collected to reimburse yourself. You will only need to turn in the lottery tickets to your team parent. Those tickets will be put in the drawing for cash and/or other prizes.

NOTE: Fundraiser fee is not applicable to Buddy Ball
