Our Program:

To be eligible for our youth levels (ages 5-12) baseball program for the 2019 playing season, the player must reside within or attend school in the Mechanicsburg Area School District. Playing age is determined as of May 1, 2019. However, we will accept a first year player who turns 5 by August 1, 2019. Players who turn age 13 by May 1, 2019 should register for the Preteeners level.

Our baseball program is generally broken into the following leagues:
  • Junior Pony – 5 and 6 year olds
  • Senior Pony – 7 and 8 year olds
  • Minors – 9 and 10 year olds
  • Majors – 11 and 12 year olds (The size of the majors playing field is 50/70).
Requests for a child to play at a level above or below their recommended age group will be addressed confidentially and on an individual “case by case” basis. The managers, coaches and league coordinator will collectively evaluate and determine if it is appropriate for the child to play at a level above or below his age group.

To be eligible for Mechanicsburg Area Teener Baseball (MAT) for the 2019 playing season, a player must reside or attend school within the Mechanicsburg Area School District and be between the ages of 13 and 17 as of May 1, 2019. Our program is structured as follows:
  • 13 and 14 year olds - MAT puts together teams that play in the Greater West Shore Teener League's National Junior Division and/or American Junior Division. Practices and home games are held at either Fisher Park or Koser Park. The size of the playing field is 60/90.
  • 15-17 year olds - MAT puts together teams that plays in the Greater West Shore Teener League's National Senior Division and/or American Senior Division. Practices and home games are held at either Fisher Park or Koser Park. The size of the playing field is 60/90. National Senior Players are generally reserved for players who are also on the high school team. The season for that level does not begin until after the players have finished their high school season.

Player Evaluations:

PLAYERS MOVING UP A LEVEL, NEW TO THE ORGANIZATION, OR WISHING TO PLAY UP A LEVEL MUST BE EVALUATED.

Evaluations for Sr.Pony, Minors and Majors will be held in Mid-February. Jr.Pony level players do not need to be evaluated. After registration closes, we will send an email to all registrants with instructions as to the specific date, time and location for the evaluations. Only players moving up a level, new to the organization, or wishing to play up a level must be evaluated. Please contact us ahead of time if your child cannot make the scheduled time.

Evaluations for Preteeners and Teeners levels will be TBD in March. After registration closes, we will send an email to all registrants with instructions as to the specific date, time and location for the evaluations.
