Spring Registration

Registration for the 2018 Spring Season runs from December 1, 2017 to February 11, 2018 for ages 5-12. Registration for Mechanicsburg Area Teeners (ages 13-17) will run to February 28, 2018. All children who reside or attend school in the Mechanicsburg School District are eligible to play. Registration is an online process done right here at our website by clicking the registration link above. A player's playing age is determined by his age as of May 1, 2018. Please note that children who turn 5 by August 1, 2018 are eligible to play in our Jr.Pony program.

UABA offers Cal Ripken affiliated youth baseball for ages 5-12 and Mechanicsburg Area Teeners Baseball for ages 13-17. UABA is known for its excellent facilities, environment, and coaching. We offer exclusive off season training opportunities at FullReps and Messiah College, and a travel program for many ages.

The UABA program (ages 5-12) is structured as follows:
Junior Pony – 5 and 6 year olds (tee ball/pitching machine. No scores or standings.)
Senior Pony – 7 and 8 year olds (pitching machine/kid pitch on 41/60 size field. Scores but no standings; There is a season end tournament.)
Minors – 9 and 10 year olds (kid pitch on 46/60 size field. Scores, standings and includes games against other local organizations; playoffs and a league champion is crowned.)
Majors – 11 and 12 year olds (kid pitch on 50/70 size field. Scores, standings and includes games against other local organizations. Playoffs and a league champion is crowned.)

Requests for a child to play at a level above or below their recommended age group will be addressed confidentially and on an individual “case by case” basis. The managers, coaches and league coordinator will collectively evaluate and determine if it is in the best interest of the child to play at a level above or below his age group.

After the regular season, UABA enters all star teams to compete against other organizations in the Cal Ripken National Tournament and other local all star tournaments. Our all star teams are among the most successful in the area capturing numerous tournament championships, Ripken District Championships and the 2017 Ripken PA. 8u State Championship. There are separate teams for each age level from ages 7 to 12.

New Bat Standards for 2018 Season

Starting January 1, 2018, new USA bat standards will be going to effect that will make most of the bats being sold today for ages 12 and under obsolete.  So before you go an buy a new bat for the Fall or as a birthday or Christmas present, we advise that you wait until the new bats come out and educate yourself on the new bat standards.  As a member of the Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth International, Upper Allen Baseball Association will be governed by these new bat standards.  Easton will have its new bats available to purchase soon.  We invite you to click on this link for more information about the new USA Baseball bat standards and/or watch this video.

For Preteeners and Teeners levels, there won't be any difference than the current rules. Those levels will continue to use only bats that meet the bbcor standards.  These bats are stamped BPF 1.15.  For preteeners, a player may use a drop 5 bat (e.g. 32/27, 31/26, 30/25) while for teeners, players may only use a drop 3 bat (e.g. 32/29, 31/28, 30/27)
